Baby unit staff charity challenge for World Prematurity Day

More than 50 staff members from Broomfield Hospital’s Neonatal Unit have taken on a 100km challenge to raise funds for vital equipment and improvements to care for their youngest and most vulnerable patients.

Inspired by World Prematurity Day (Sunday 17 November), the team, which includes clerical staff, consultants, therapists, neonatal specialists, and nursery nurses, is collectively walking thousands of kilometres throughout November to support this important cause.

Clare Kidd, Neonatal Nursery Nurse, commented on the challenge:

“We wanted to do something that would not only bring us together as a team but also make a real difference for the babies and families we care for. This challenge symbolises the long journey many of our patients go through, and we’re determined to complete it for them.”

The funds raised will go towards improving facilities for families, providing parents with comfortable spaces and support during long hospital stays.
