Essex homebuilders commit to a year of fundraising activity to benefit our hospitals

Chelmsford-based developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties has announced that Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity will be one of their two ‘charity of the year’ beneficiaries in 2024. The company’s annual charity initiative sees them go out to employees for suggested charities to receive support for the year ahead. In addition to supporting their local hospitals, H-ABC Foundation will also receive support this year.

Elise Fleetwood, our Events & Corporate Relations Manager, said: “We are so appreciative of this support which will provide a real boost to our Paediatric service at Broomfield hospital and have a hugely positive impact on the young patients and their families that will use this service in the future.

“Having seen the amount of effort the team at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties are putting into their fundraising efforts for the year ahead, I know that they’ll all do themselves proud whilst having what looks like, a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone getting involved”.

Their mission to raise funds for Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity was kicked-off last week with a 25-mile bike-ride which saw 32 staff members take part to do their bit.

Tom Wright, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting these two excellent charities as our charities of the year.

“The work in which they carry out on a daily basis to assist people both locally and nationally is admirable, and we’re grateful to have this opportunity to raise vital funds for such worthwhile causes.”

In addition to staff fundraising, Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ parent company Barratt Developments have pledged to match funds raised by staff (up to the value of £15,000).
