Celebrating our incredible NHS staff bringing festive cheer to our hospitals

As we approach Christmas, we would like to shine a very special light on the extraordinary efforts of our Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust staff across all our hospitals and satellite sites.

Every year, it’s clear to see that so many go above and beyond to make our hospitals feel brighter, warmer, and more festive for patients and their families – and this year is no exception.

What makes this so special is that so much of it is done in staff members’ own time. From beautifully decorated wards that lift the spirits of patients young and old, to porters and post teams spreading smiles as they move through our corridors in festive hats, jumpers and decorations.

We know this is one of the busiest times of the year in our hospitals, and yet our staff, and volunteers still find the energy and heart to create moments that mean so much to the people they care for. These gestures – big and small – make a real difference. They bring comfort, spread joy, and remind our patients and their families that they are surrounded by compassion.

To every member of staff who has helped make our hospitals a more festive place – thank you. Your dedication, creativity, and kindness do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
